About the Role
In our Smart Infrastructure Engineering (SIE) team, we currently have 20 colleagues located in Ratingen, Radebeul, Ismaning, Bonn, Münster, and Eschborn.
As a Surveying Technician (m/f/d), you will carry out various mobile mapping projects. This includes capturing data using state-of-the-art equipment such as the VLX scanner (high-resolution 360-degree camera) and vehicle-based measurement systems (e.g., measurement vehicles equipped with cameras and additional sensors). These methods ensure the high quality of data required for creating our Digital Twins.
You will conduct surveys of diverse building types using the VLX scanner or our measurement vehicles.
You will regularly operate drones to collect aerial data (we provide prior training for this).
As part of your projects, you will also perform precise surveying using total stations (e.g., Trimble instruments).
You will process and analyze collected data using software such as NavVis IVION or Orbit GT (training provided).
You will prepare documentation for your results and conduct quality control checks.
You will coordinate closely with your colleagues and external project partners.

What You Bring
Completed vocational training in surveying or a related technical field.
Experience with modern surveying equipment—especially VLX scanners, vehicle-based systems, drones, and total stations (e.g., Trimble).
Proficiency in data processing and relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center, or GIS systems), along with openness to quickly learn new tools.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both within the team and with other project stakeholders.
Structured, independent, and flexible work style, with the ability to adapt to new situations.
Valid German Class B driver’s license and full willingness to travel (approx. 70% fieldwork, 30% office or home office).
Excellent written and spoken German (essential for smooth communication with diverse project partners).

Important Note
Non-EU applicants must hold a valid German work permit. Unfortunately, applications without a valid work permit and sufficient German language skills cannot be considered.
