Our Department of Urban Green Spaces (Department 67) is looking to strengthen its Operations team as soon as possible with a permanent, full-time position for:
Technical Specialist in Conceptual Planning – GRIS/GIS (m/f/d)
Your Responsibilities:
Shaping the future: You will manage, develop, and strategically advance our Green Space Information System (GRIS) and other department-specific IT applications.
Driving digitalization: You will actively contribute to IT projects and modernize the department’s technological infrastructure—from mobile data collection to e-government solutions.
Ensuring data quality: You will maintain and further develop our green space, playground, and tree registers, and support the ongoing enhancement of the cemetery register.
Prioritizing safety: You will plan and implement technical tree, forest, and forest-edge inspections across various object types, continuously improving existing inspection systems.
Serving as the central interface: You will coordinate cross-departmental traffic safety measures within the GRIS and act as the primary contact for internal partner departments.
Your Profile:
Completed university degree (Diplom (FH) or Bachelor’s) in Geography, Landscape Architecture, or Forestry
What Makes You a Strong Candidate:
IT & GIS expertise: Proven experience in system administration and further development of geographic information systems (GIS/GRIS), along with technical understanding of mobile data collection and e-government.
Green space & tree knowledge: Experience with registers (trees, green spaces, cemeteries) and expertise in tree inspection and legal requirements for traffic safety.
Strategic thinking: Ability to plan, develop, and future-proof complex IT structures.
Communication & teamwork: Willingness to collaborate across departments and communicate confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
Analytical & expressive skills: Capacity to analyze complex issues precisely and draft legally sound, clear statements.
Structured work approach: High level of self-organization, reliability, and a strong sense of quality when handling sensitive data.
What We Offer:
COMPENSATION: Salary according to pay grade 11 of the TVöD (collective wage agreement), ranging from €4,269.64 to €6,326.77 gross per month (full-time), depending on experience; possibility of an annual performance-based bonus.
