Our Department of Urban Green Spaces (Department 67) is looking to strengthen its Operations team as soon as possible with a permanent, full-time position for:
Technical Specialist in Conceptual Planning – GRIS/GIS (m/f/d)
Full-time | Permanent | Salary grade E11 TVöD
Your Responsibilities:
Shaping the future: You will take over system administration, conceptual development, and strategic further development of our Green Space Information System (GRIS) and other department-specific IT applications.
Driving digitalization: You will actively contribute to IT projects and help modernize the department’s infrastructure—from mobile data collection to e-government solutions.
Ensuring data quality: You will manage and maintain our green space, playground, and tree registers, and actively support the further development of the cemetery register.
Prioritizing safety: You will plan and implement technical tree, forest, and forest-edge inspections across various object types, and continuously improve existing inspection systems.
Serving as a liaison: You will coordinate cross-departmental traffic safety measures within the GRIS and act as the central contact person for internal partner departments.
Your Profile:
Completed university degree (Diploma from University of Applied Sciences or Bachelor’s) in Geography, Landscape Architecture, or Forestry
What Makes You a Strong Candidate:
IT and GIS expertise: You have experience in system administration and further development of geographic information systems (GIS/GRIS), as well as technical understanding of mobile data collection and e-government.
Knowledge of green spaces and trees: Ideally, you have experience with registers (tree, green space, cemetery) and professional knowledge of tree inspections and legal requirements for traffic safety.
Strategic thinking: You are able to plan, further develop, and future-proof complex IT structures.
Communication and teamwork skills: As a central interface, you enjoy interdisciplinary collaboration and communicate confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
Clarity and precision: You can analyze complex issues accurately and draft legally sound and comprehensible statements.
Structured work approach: You demonstrate high levels of self-organization, reliability, and a strong sense of quality when handling sensitive data.
What We Offer You:
COMPENSATION: Salary according to pay grade 11 of the TVöD, ranging from €4,269.64 to €6,326.77 gross per month (full-time), depending on proven professional experience; possibility of an annual performance-based bonus.
