About the Role
What You’ll Do
As a GIS Consultant, you’ll work on diverse projects where geographic information, data, and technology converge. You’ll support clients in solving complex spatial issues and ensure GIS is applied intelligently and effectively—starting from the initial problem definition and contributing to the optimal approach.
You’ll analyze available information, determine data requirements, and translate these into suitable GIS solutions—blending your technical knowledge with active listening to understand client needs. Your responsibilities include:
Advising clients on GIS capabilities and applications;
Translating spatial and organizational challenges into concrete GIS solutions;
Conducting complex spatial analyses and data processing;
Developing GIS applications, maps, analyses, and visualizations;
Integrating, combining, and unlocking various geographic data sources;
Working with systems and tools such as ArcGIS, FME, and SQL;
Automating recurring GIS processes and data workflows;
Designing and improving geo-information processes;
Contributing to innovative applications in geo-informatics and data-driven decision-making;
Independently executing and managing projects;
Maintaining client contact and serving as the technical point of contact;
Monitoring quality and progress of your deliverables;
Sharing knowledge with colleagues and contributing to the growth of the GIS team.

Are You Our New GIS Consultant?
You’re an experienced GIS professional energized by complex challenges and finding practical solutions. You enjoy diving deep into technical and spatial topics—and can clearly translate your insights into actionable advice for clients. You work independently, take ownership of your work, and naturally contribute ideas to project approaches.
You also enjoy sharing knowledge and collaborating with colleagues across disciplines. Additionally, you have:
A completed HBO or WO degree in GIS, Geo-informatics, Geography, Geomatics, Geodesy, or a related field;
At least 5 years of relevant experience in GIS and geo-informatics;
Extensive experience with ArcGIS;
Experience with FME and SQL;
Strong knowledge of geographic databases, data processing, and spatial analysis;
Experience developing GIS solutions and automating workflows;
Experience advising clients and/or stakeholders;
Preferably, experience independently executing or managing projects;
Strong analytical and communication skills;
An independent and proactive work attitude;
Interest in emerging trends in GIS, geo-informatics, and data-driven work;
Proficiency in Dutch.
