Your Role Within Our Team
You will work on complex GEO-ICT challenges for clients in the public sector, helping organizations align processes, data, applications, and information systems optimally—and contributing to solutions that support the digital infrastructure of the future.
What You’ll Do
As an Information Analyst / GIS Specialist, you’ll analyze complex business and information requirements and translate them into concrete solutions. You’ll combine your analytical skills with knowledge of GIS, data, and software development, collaborating with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, developers, testers, and other experts to deliver solutions that advance digital transformation in the public sector.
You’ll be involved in:
Collecting, analyzing, and translating business and information needs into requirements, user stories, functional designs, and acceptance criteria;
Modeling business processes, system interactions, and information flows (e.g., using BPMN) and conducting impact analyses for changes;
Analyzing interdependencies between processes, GIS applications, data, and other enterprise systems;
Advising stakeholders on functional and technical matters and translating analyses into implementable solutions;
Contributing to discussions on asset data, data quality, information products, map layers, interfaces, and integrations;
Collaborating with architects, developers, and testers—and where appropriate, contributing to the development and improvement of GIS solutions (e.g., in Smallworld GIS and/or Esri);
Applying modern technologies and AI-supported analysis and design techniques to further enhance quality, efficiency, and innovation.
How You Strengthen Our Team
You are an analytical and content-driven professional who enjoys working at the intersection of business, IT, and GEO-ICT. You take ownership, ask critical questions, and translate complex issues into concrete solutions. Together with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders, you contribute to developing solutions for the public sector.
What You Bring
Completed bachelor’s or master’s degree—or equivalent work and thinking level—in fields such as Computer Science, Information Science, Business Administration, Geo-Information, or a technical discipline;
Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as an Information Analyst, Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, Functional Designer, GIS Specialist, or similar role;
Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into requirements, user stories, functional designs, and concrete solutions;
Experience with Agile/Scrum and preferably DevOps, including process modeling (e.g., BPMN or UML);
Affinity with GIS, GEO-ICT, spatial and asset data, and experience with technologies such as Smallworld GIS, Esri/ArcGIS, FME, QGIS, SQL/PostGIS, Java, or C# is a plus;
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both business and IT stakeholders;
Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written;
A proactive attitude, affinity with software development and system architecture, and the drive to continuously develop your expertise;
Interest in AI, automation, and innovative technologies that make analysis, design, and software development smarter and more efficient.
Not yet fully experienced in GEO-ICT?
That’s not a problem. We place greater value on a strong analytical or technical foundation and curiosity about GEO-ICT.
For example, if you have a background in information analysis or software development and want to further develop toward GIS, our unit provides the space to make that step. Through training, knowledge sessions, and targeted development trajectories, you can expand your expertise in GIS, GEO-ICT, and energy infrastructure.
