About the Role
Company: BMC
Title: GIS Data Scientist
As an advisor at BMC – Data & Services, you play a crucial role in developing advanced data solutions and promoting the responsible use of machine learning, data science, and AI—both for key clients and cross-domain initiatives within BMC.
At BMC, we believe that expertise supported by data leads to the best insights and advice. We identify where data and robust infrastructure can streamline processes and generate new insights. Within the public sector, pressing issues such as the energy transition, climate adaptation, and the housing challenge are central to our work.
These challenges involve spatial distribution, making GIS technology essential. It enables us to assess the impacts of various solution scenarios in an integrated, spatially informed way and make well-considered decisions.
To further strengthen our team of data advisors, we are looking for a GIS advisor who is not only technically proficient in GIS and data science techniques, but also has experience or affinity with the physical domain.
As a GIS advisor at BMC, you will be deployed on interesting assignments for various clients. In addition, you will collaborate with our team of passionate data advisors to further develop our GIS solutions and actively contribute to raising awareness among colleagues at BMC about the effective use of GIS. You will be able to provide them with the information they need to make informed decisions about the deployment and use of data products.

You hold a WO (research university) degree in a relevant field, such as Geo-informatics or Data Science.

Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team (preferred).
You have worked in recent years for a municipality, ministry, government agency, or similar organization (preferred).
You have gained experience in the physical domain—preferably related to one or more of the mentioned challenges (energy transition, climate adaptation, and/or housing).
