About the Role
The AZV Südholstein is responsible for wastewater collection, transport, and treatment across southwestern Schleswig-Holstein, serving approximately 500,000 residents as well as industry and commerce in the Pinneberg district, parts of neighboring districts, and several northwestern districts of Hamburg. The association operates seven wastewater treatment plants of varying sizes and manages over 900 kilometers of sewer pipelines.
The main site is the large wastewater treatment plant in Hetlingen, where around 34 million cubic meters of wastewater are treated annually.
