About the Role
What You’ll Do
As a GIS Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting, managing, analyzing, and visualizing geographic data. You’ll tackle a variety of spatial challenges where location-based information plays a key role. Your responsibilities may include:
Collecting, processing, and managing geographic data;
Conducting spatial analyses and data quality checks;
Creating and maintaining digital maps and GIS products;
Integrating multiple data sources and datasets;
Ensuring the quality, completeness, and timeliness of geospatial information;
Translating complex geographic data into clear insights and visualizations;
Performing GIS analyses to support project execution and decision-making;
Processing and analyzing data within GIS environments;
Supporting colleagues and project teams with GIS-related questions;
Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and optimize data flows.
Depending on the client and project, your focus may shift toward data analysis, map production, geo-data management, automation, or developing GIS solutions.

Are You Our New GIS Specialist?
You are analytically minded, have a strong interest in geographic information, and enjoy working with data. You work independently but actively seek collaboration when needed. You also bring:
An HBO-level education, preferably in Geo-informatics, Geodesy, GIS, Geomatics, Spatial Planning, or a related field;
At least 2 years of hands-on experience with GIS and geographic data files;
Experience with ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, or a similar GIS platform;
Experience processing, analyzing, and visualizing geospatial data;
An interest in databases and data quality;
An analytical and precise working approach;
Strong spatial awareness;
Good communication skills;
Proficiency in Dutch.
Where You’ll Work
You’ll start working with one of our clients in the Rotterdam region through Voort. This could be a municipality, province, consultancy or engineering firm, utility company, contractor, or organization in infrastructure and the physical living environment. Projects—and their challenges—can vary widely.
For example, one project might involve geo-information for public space, while another focuses on area development, infrastructure, asset management, or improving existing data workflows. Based on your experience, knowledge, ambitions, and personal preferences, we’ll jointly identify the best-fitting client and work environment—ensuring your GIS expertise is fully utilized while also supporting your continued growth.
