Title: Junior GIS/GEO Tester

What You’ll Do as a Junior GIS/GEO Tester
As a Junior GIS/GEO Tester, you’ll join a professional IT team working with geographic information and GEO applications. You’ll help ensure that applications, features, and data function correctly before deployment.
You’ll learn how to design test cases, validate features, and analyze results—working directly with GIS/GEO systems while deepening your understanding of geospatial data, applications, and their underlying technical infrastructure.
Concrete Responsibilities
Designing and executing test cases for GIS/GEO applications
Verifying that new features function as intended
Testing geospatial data for accuracy and completeness
Analyzing and documenting test results
Identifying, reproducing, and logging defects and deviations
Contributing ideas to improve applications and workflows
Collaborating with developers, functional administrators, and other IT specialists
Supporting regression testing and release validation
Using GIS/GEO tools and continuously developing your expertise in the field
You don’t need to know everything yet—during the traineeship, you’ll learn how to test systematically, investigate issues, and gradually work more independently with GIS/GEO systems. Prior knowledge of GIS, geospatial data, software testing, or SQL is a plus—but not required. If you’re highly motivated to learn and passionate about IT and GEO, we’d love to hear from you.
What You Can Expect from the Traineeship
Onboarding in Bunnik, where you’ll start alongside other trainees, building foundational IT skills and applying them directly in your assignment

What We Offer
A two-year IT traineeship with strong emphasis on personal and professional growth
A starting salary of €2,600 to €2,800
Immediate permanent contract

What We Expect from You
Completed HBO or WO degree in IT, Geoinformation, Geography, GIS, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
Interest in software testing, GIS/GEO, and IT
Meticulous work ethic and enjoyment in solving complex problems
Analytical mindset with a solution-oriented approach
Strong collaboration skills and ability to clearly communicate findings
Curiosity and openness to learning new technologies and systems
Prior knowledge of GIS, geospatial data, SQL, or software testing is a plus, but not mandatory
Proficiency in Dutch
Willingness to work at least 2 days per week from our location in Assen
