About the Position
The Swedish Armed Forces is undergoing significant growth and needs to strengthen its competencies in Geographic Information Services (GIS). This area is expanding and currently in a development phase. The Armed Forces is tasked with developing both a geospatial infrastructure within the framework of ICT modernization, and an advanced organizational structure to develop and maintain geospatial information services across and between its ICT platforms.
As the GIS IT Specialist, you will have full technical responsibility for the design, platforms, and system solutions within GIS. You will formally hold product and design ownership for the technical solution and the systems within your domain. Within the Swedish Armed Forces, this role is referred to as Material System Manager (MSL).
The MSL supports the early phases with requirements definition to ensure the system is maintainable and enables the Armed Forces to assume technical design ownership once the system is handed over.
Your Responsibilities:
Product and design ownership for technical solutions and platforms
Leading and managing operations and maintenance personnel
Responsible for design control, as well as operational and maintenance planning—both short- and long-term
Monitoring business performance, quality, and financial outcomes
Contributing to the further development of work methods and processes in alignment with technological advancements
Requirements
Qualifications:
M.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent relevant post-secondary technical education
Minimum 5 years of experience in product and/or architecture roles
Solid knowledge of Systems Engineering, system development, procurement, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), project management, and operations & maintenance
Excellent command of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Swedish citizenship
Valid Swedish Class B driver’s license
Merits:
Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Strong competence in IT infrastructure and system integration
Knowledge of information security requirements and related processes
Experience with public procurement (LOU)
Experience from the Swedish Armed Forces or other government agencies
Certification or experience with agile methodologies (e.g., SAFe)

Hours: Full-time
Location: Enköping. Travel may be required as part of the duties.
Start date: As agreed, ideally as soon as possible.
